Currumbin residents at risk as 000 calls divert to NSW

Queensland residents in need of urgent police assistance are being left in the dark as triple zero calls made from mobile phones are diverted to New South Wales and lost in a telecommunications black hole.

Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey MP raised the serious issue in parliament in March after the problem was reported by local residents who were left waiting for help that wasn’t on its way....

M1 petition results in commitment to upgrades for Currumbin

A commitment to fund the M1 works between Mudgeeraba and Varsity Lakes has finally been reached, and planning upgrades from Varsity Lakes to Tugun are now closer to reality after strong lobbying from Currumbin residents.

Disturbing figures provided by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) have shown crime rates have soared at Gold Coast light rail (GLink) stations since the transport mode became operational in July 2014.
