Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP, is calling on boating enthusiasts in the Currumbin Electorate to have their say on the Maritime Safety Queensland demand forecasting study.

“Recreational boating is undoubtedly a popular pastime, especially around our beautiful area, and increasing popularity means higher demand on existing resources.

“A survey is being conducted by Maritime Safety Queensland to determine what recreational boating facilities are most wanted or needed by our boaties.

“Recreational facilities include ramps, jetties, pontoons, and on-shore facilities such as parking, amenities and lighting.

“The results of data collected and consultation resulting from this study will provide a basis for guiding investment for boating infrastructure from 2012-13 onwards.

“Stakeholder feedback is an essential component in determining what facilities and infrastructure will be available for the future, so I encourage all residents with an interest in boating to get involved and have their say.

“For more information, visit the Maritime Safety Queensland website at www.msq.qld.gov.au and follow the links to complete an online survey or download a response form.
