Call for Currumbin residents to stay safe

Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP has called on Currumbin residents to follow the warnings and directions of emergency services as we clean up the aftermath of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald.

“I understand there are many homes and residents throughout the southern Gold Coast who have been affected by the tumultuous weather over the long weekend,” Ms Stuckey said.

“It is now vitally important that everyone obeys the warnings and safety measures provided by our emergency services throughout Queensland.

“I urge residents to please respect dangerous surf conditions and to stay away from the high seas. If the beaches are closed, then do not attempt to enter them.

“Many thousands of people lost power during the storms and I implore everyone to remain patient as Energex attempts to repair the damaged power lines and restore power as quickly as they can.
