Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey is urging local residents to acknowledge the contribution of senior Queenslanders to the state’s emergency services today as part of Senior’s Week.

Seniors Week celebrates the contribution made by seniors in various walks of life across many communities in Queensland.

“The Government is dedicated to recognising the efforts of seniors in our emergency services and our volunteer emergency services.

“I am extremely proud to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our older residents who dedicate themselves to helping others in need,” said Ms Stuckey.

“In our community we have proud members of Volunteer Marine Rescue, State Emergency Service, and Rural Fire Service Queensland who are selfless in their service, and do so simply in the name of their community.

“I would encourage any resident to take the time to pass on their thanks to our seniors for their community volunteering.”
