Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin, is encouraging community groups across the Currumbin electorate to apply for a share in $12 million worth of funding available through the Newman Government’s Everyone’s Environment grants program.

“The Newman Government’s announcement of the Everyone’s Environment grants program gives local community groups, who work to stop environmental degradation, a chance to receive a grant towards their project between $2,000 and $100,000.

“Local scout groups, environmental and conservation programs, Rotary and Lions and P&Cs are just some of the local community groups and organisations that the Government is actively seeking applications from.

“Through this program the Government intends to support and encourage partnerships between community organisations and local schools.

“This program shows that the Newman Government recognises that our environment is one asset we can’t afford to lose.

“Whatever we do today affects the future for our children, and whatever positive actions we take now mean a cleaner, better future for everyone.

“Programs such as the Everyone’s Environment grants are an investment in the future of Queensland.

“Grants are available for a range of projects including:
• Tree-planting and land restoration;
• Community and waterway clean-ups;
• Run-off reduction and water quality improvement;
• Enhancement of the natural beauty of local communities; and
• Monitoring pollutants in streams

“Nominations are open from the 1st July 2012. For more information visit
