Currumbin community groups get funding boost

Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP has welcomed the allocation of over $150,000 in grants for 5 local community groups under the latest State Government funding rounds.

Ms Stuckey said organisations within the Currumbin electorate to receive funding in this round were:

  • Kirra SLSC, $30,636, for purchase of a tractor
  • Currumbin Valley State School, $31,818.18, for construction of playground
  • Buskers by the Creek, $32,980, for hosting of annual event
  • Elanora State High School, $29,020, to install shade structure
  • Voice Weavers A Cappella Choir, $25,924.50, for purchase of AV equipment

“It is great to see a range of organisations set to benefit from the latest round of funding which caters for the needs of our students’ right through to our senior citizens,” Ms Stuckey said.

“These recipients illustrate the varied nature of the invaluable work not-for-profit organisations contribute to the wider community.

“Our local area and residents benefit enormously from these organisations and I am pleased these grants will allow them to continue their valuable work.

These grants are designed for approved not-for-profit organisations and are not intended to replace existing sources of support for these organisations.
