Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP is calling on Currumbin residents to have their say on the proposed Boral Gold Coast Quarry development at Reedy Creek.

“Locals now have the chance to contribute and have their say on the project by making a submission to the Coordinator-General on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS),” Ms Stuckey said.

“Two years has passed since over 9,000 local residents signed a petition tabled in State Parliament calling on the Government to oppose plans for the proposed Boral Quarry.

“All residents who signed the petition have been personally invited to comment on the EIS and I would strongly encourage all concerned residents to also make a contribution

“A new website has been established which allows interested parties to access all the EIS documentation and to generate an individualised EIS summary report for a specific address.  This site can be found at

“To comment on the EIS, read the fact sheet on making a submission, then complete and sign the submission form. Both documents are available at

Submissions close 5pm on Tuesday 11 June 2013.

“This is an opportunity to be an active member of your community and have your say on the project.

“I will continue, as I have done for the past nine years, to carry the voice of my constituents and make sure your views are heard.

“Stop the Gold Coast Quarry Association are hosting a public meeting at 6:30pm on Thursday 30 May at St Andrews Lutheran College to discuss the project. For more details visit
