Almost 80 nominations were received by Currumbin MP Jann Stuckey for her ‘Nominate Your Favourite Tradie’ Competition which closed on 5 April.

“There were some terrific entries praising local tradies but there can only be one winner,” said Ms Stuckey.

“We all have a favourite tradie, the one who is always on time, never leaves a mess, and goes that extra mile and I thought we should recognise them.

“This competition provided an opportunity to reward a hard-working tradie with a $500 Makita Gift Voucher from Keith Stephens Best Buy Tools store on Currumbin Creek Road.

“Residents in the Currumbin electorate were asked to write in 25 words or less why they thought their tradie was the best

“Winner Grant Knauer from GBK waste removal services ran his business from Tallebudgera Valley for more than 20 years using a method that helps to look after the environment.

“Nominator Ruth Wilcox, Currumbin Waters has been his client for 15 years and could not imagine anyone else providing the same excellent standard of service.

“Ruth was very creative in her nomination using Grant’s name as an acronym for her winning entry.

Gives great service,

Reliable, arrives every three months

Always confirms before coming

Never complains when contacted after hrs

Thinks of economical ways to fix things.

Grant was overwhelmed by the win and said “It’s a very humbling experience being nominated for an award such as this, and even more to win!

“I appreciate all of my clients and Ruth, who has been a long-term client really cares about the job I do and the advice I give.”

It’s pretty obvious that Ruth cares about the job Grant does too!

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate you hard-working tradies,” said Ms Stuckey.
