Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP congratulated the men and women who have contributed to a decade of remarkable service at the Elanora Police Beat.

“In August 2005 I stood with the then Minister and Police Commissioner and opened the doors to the Elanora Police Beat for the first time,” Ms Stuckey said.

“We have had dedicated police working here who have immersed themselves in our local community and worked side by side with young people and their families to make our neighbourhoods safer.

“Over the past ten years since the Elanora Police Beat was established there has been:

  • 80% reduction in wilful damage to schools;
  • 70% reduction in burglaries
  • 85% reduction in youth violence

“Whether it is playing a mentoring role in youth project Booyah, supporting our Neighbourhood Watches, working with disengaged youth or implementing anti-hooning strategies the officers and volunteers have made a huge difference to so many lives.

“On behalf of the Currumbin community I say thank you to Senior Constable Kurt Foessel and his team for their unwavering dedication to our community.
