Eleven Currumbin community groups get funding boost

Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP has welcomed the allocation of almost $190,000 in grants for 11 local community groups under the latest State Government funding rounds.

Ms Stuckey said organisations within the Currumbin electorate to receive funding in this round were:

  • Volunteer Marine Rescue Currumbin, $26,851.09 for upgrade of the building
  • Currumbin State School, $15,000.00 for construction of garden and bush tucker trail
  • Gold Coast Stock Sport Club, $1,453.86 for purchase of a card printer
  • Elanora State School, $20,298.00 to upgrade multipurpose courts
  • Palm Beach Currumbin Boxing Club, $16,636.40 to purchase a boxing ring and equipment
  • C&K Coolangatta Community Kindergarten, $21,236.36 to install shade sails
  • Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club, $18,942.64 to purchase an all-terrain vehicle
  • Tugun Surf Life Saving Club, $23,636.37 to purchase boards
  • Currumbin Gymnastics Committee, $10,800.00 to purchase equipment
  • 100% Hope Inc, $2,500.00 to conduct a charity fun run
  • Palm Beach Currumbin State High School, $31,8181.18 to construct shade structure

“It is great to see such a wide range of organisations benefit from this round of funding which caters for the needs of our students’ right through to our senior citizens,” Ms Stuckey said.

“These recipients illustrate the varied nature of the invaluable services and facilities our not-for-profit organisations and our schools contribute to the wider community.

“Residents and school students alike benefit enormously from the improvements to existing facilities and the purchase of much needed new items.

“I am really thrilled these grants will allow so many groups to continue their valuable work within our Currumbin community.”

These grants are designed for approved not-for-profit organisations and are not intended to replace existing sources of support for these organisations.
