An exclusive range of Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ merchandise will be available to purchase following the launch of the Games emblem at Broadwater Parklands tomorrow.

Commonwealth Games Minister Jann Stuckey said the merchandise was being produced locally by Lifestyle Australia, Yatala.

“We believe the 2018 Games emblem is a winner, and it looks great on the merchandise range,” Ms Stuckey said.

“This range is an initiative of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association and the profits will contribute to the cost of sending the Australian team to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

“There is great excitement the Commonwealth Games are coming to the Gold Coast in 2018, and we believe the official merchandise will be very popular.”

The range includes singlets, T-shirts, polos, hoodies, caps, beanies, wristbands and woven beach bags.

All of the merchandise will be available for purchase from the new website which will also be launched tomorrow.

GOLDOC Chairman Nigel Chamier OAM said the website was engaging and showcased the new brand that would become a well-recognised feature in all Games marketing activity.

“Tomorrow we will launch the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™ brand and visual identity program, and the new website is an important part of our market positioning,” Mr Chamier said.

“We want people to remain excited and passionate about the Games and we want them to stay in touch with all the news and developments over the next five years.

“We want them to continue to show their support for the Commonwealth Games by subscribing for updates, following our social media and purchasing items from the range of merchandise which is now available online.

“The site has a deliberate clean and uncluttered appearance with simple functionality. The home page is highlighted by a Countdown Clock to the opening ceremony in 2018.”

The website will go live following the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games emblem unveiling tomorrow and can be found at (external site)( )
