Following the success of the LNP Government’s Get In the Game sporting grants scheme introduced in 2013, applications for the Get Playing Plus program have now opened.

The Get Playing Plus program is a funding initiative designed to help improve regional sporting infrastructure. Each grant offers sporting organisations between $300,000 and $1.5 million to develop sporting facilities.

Since the program’s establishment, numerous sporting groups in the Currumbin Electorate have been granted funding from the initiative which comprises four programs.

The program was initiated under the former Government to boost more sporting activity by more Queenslanders in better facilities starting at the grassroots level.

Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey MP is encouraging all local sporting groups as well as City of Gold Coast to take advantage of these funding grants.

“What a terrific way for so many local sporting clubs to improve or upgrade their equipment or amenities for more people to participate and enjoy.

“It is wonderful to see such a wide range of sporting organisations in Currumbin getting the support they deserve.

“This funding will help to continually improve the physical and mental health of all members of the Currumbin community through the pursuit of healthy activities.

“Sport is a big part of our culture here on the Gold Coast and in the Currumbin electorate and I encourage clubs and sporting organisations to get their applications in, NOW.”

Applications close on the 29th April at 5pm.
