The LNP has initiated a petition for residents concerned with recent transport decisions made by the Bligh Government in relation to fare hikes and Go Card unreliability.

Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin says local residents are disappointed with the incompetence the Bligh Government has exhibited throughout the whole Go Card transport fiasco.

“This Labor Government has allowed Queensland’s transport systems to get into a mess. Now they have launched the long-awaited Go Card without adequate planning,” said Ms Stuckey.

“The latest Go Card mishaps are inexcusable.

“Residents are invited to have their say and sign a petition for a fairer, more reliable and more affordable public transport system.

“If you or someone you know is concerned by fare increases of 40 percent for paper tickets, and 20 percent for Go Card users, the lack of Go Card retail outlets throughout South East Queensland, card reader failures, and recent security infringements of Go Card users, show the Government what the public of South East Queensland thinks of their performance,” said Ms Stuckey.

Copies of the petition are available to sign at Jann Stuckey’s Electorate Office at Suite 1, Samuel Plaza, 1045 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach.
