Jann Stuckey, MP, Member for Currumbin is encouraging Currumbin residents to have their say on privatisation ahead of next week’s State Budget.

The LNP has launched a website so that all Queenslanders can voice their opinion on the state Labor Government’s secret plans to sell-off $15 billion in public assets.

“No sooner had Premier Bligh and Labor won the 2009 state election than they revealed their true agenda for privatisation,” Ms Stuckey said.

“The LNP website provides an opportunity for ordinary Queenslander’s to speak their mind on the sale of our assets, and I urge all Currumbin residents to speak up.

“These assets belong to the citizens of Queensland, and it is not acceptable for a debt-ridden Labor Government to sell them off at bargain-basement prices.

“Queenslander’s are struggling to make ends meet as decision after decision by this Bligh Government causes greater financial burden on the average household.

“Labor promised not to introduce the fuel tax, or to increase vehicle registration costs, but we now know that empty promises are a staple of Bligh’s governance.

“Costs for electricity and water, two basic commodities, are about to rise even further under this incompetent Labor Government.

“If we want to stop the sale of our assets then it is vital as many people as possible express their opposition to put pressure on Anna Bligh and Labor.
