Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP, is encouraging schools, workplaces and community groups in Currumbin to get healthy for the Healthy Queensland Awards.

“The State Government, in conjunction with Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland, has launched an annual state-wide competition to find Queensland’s healthiest community, school and workplace to promote healthy living,” Ms Stuckey said.

“Entrants can include streets, neighbourhood associations, community and cultural groups, small businesses, volunteer organisations, schools, offices or corporations.

“Over $1 million in prize money is up for grabs. To win, entrants must detail how they are planning, implementing and sharing their initiatives, and what the prize money will be used for.

“Providing supporting material is encouraged and as a Member of Parliament I would be pleased to write a Letter of Support for organisations or schools that are making an effort to promote healthy initiatives.

“Entries must be received by 15 December 2010, with finalists to be announced on 7 March 2011 and awards presented on 18 March 2011.

“Online entries can lodged online at www.kabq.org.au or by email to hqa@kabq.org.au

“Alternatively, post entries to Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland, PO Box 3260, South Brisbane QLD 4101
