Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin, has congratulated the Gold Coast Sun newspaper for their ‘Local Favourites’ campaign to recognise outstanding customer service across the city.

“As Shadow Minister for Small Business and Tourism, I know many businesses are doing it tough at the moment, particularly on the Gold Coast.

“My 15 years as a communications consultant to the tourism industry here on the Gold Coast prior to my political career highlighted the critical importance of good customer service.

“When consumer spending is down and trade is slow it is often the businesses who provide terrific customer service who suffer the least.

“Positive initiatives like this are a great opportunity for businesses to extend their very best service and establish the foundations for repeat business.

“Acknowledging the value of good service is vital for building customer loyalty.

“This is what the Local Favourites campaign is all about.

“It is a wonderful initiative and I encourage every local business to make an effort to offer superior service and be recognised for going the extra mile for their customers.

“A welcoming smile and a friendly hello or g’day makes a bigger difference than we realise, so let’s all get on board the Local Favourites campaign.
