Jann Stuckey MP, Member for Currumbin, is urging residents to have their say about the powers and responsibilities of Queensland Police.

“Currumbin residents have indicated that community safety and law and order issues are very high on their list of priorities and now they have an opportunity to contribute to future state legislation,” said Ms Stuckey.

“The State Government is conducting a 5-yearly review of the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000, and the public have been invited to make a submission.

“Now is the time to voice your concerns or make suggestions regarding the operation of police in our state and in our local community.

“Public consultation closes on 17 May 2010, so be sure to get your submissions in promptly.

“Whether you are an organisation or an individual, your opinions on the fairness, consistency and modernity of police enforcement are valued.

“For information on how to lodge a submission, visit www.police.qld.gov.au,  phone (07) 3015 5953 or email PPRA.ReviewSecretariat@police.qld.gov.auThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
