Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP, is calling on residents of Currumbin to show their support for the Palm Beach Youth Music Venture in their third annual concert to be held this Sunday the 3nd June.

“The Youth Music Venture provides a great opportunity to engage local teenagers within our community and showcase the talents they have to offer,” Ms Stuckey said.

“I am proud to be patron of this initiative that provides a positive outlet for the youth of this area to express their creativity and individuality in a safe and encouraging environment.

“The program which was initiated in 2010 continues to develop with community support and was deservingly awarded Community Organisation of the Year in 2011 by the Creek to Creek Chamber of Commerce.

“Teenagers from throughout the community were chosen to be participants following auditions in February and after four months of close mentoring from local musicians are now eager to play to a full house this Sunday at Currumbin RSL.

“Open to all young people 13 – 19 years and also reaching kids at risk and disengaged youth, this program has provided an avenue for not only an improvement of musical skills but an opportunity for personal development and social engagement.

“This Sunday we as a community have an opportunity to show our support for this great program and also enjoy the performance by our talented youth.

“The work that Ian Grace and the volunteers associated with this Venture have done over the years should be acknowledged and supported by our community.

“The Youth Music Venture performance will be held at Currumbin RSL from 2pm on Sunday the 3rd June. Entry is free for children 12 and under and $10 for those 13 and older.
