Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey MP is urging residents to dig deep and donate to the 2013 Queensland Flood Appeal.

“Premier Campbell Newman has launched the Flood Appeal in the wake of this devastating natural disaster that has affected communities’ throughout Queensland,” Ms Stuckey said.

“Whilst Currumbin took a fair lashing from the storm and I acknowledge people have been considerably inconvenienced, there are others in the state who have lost everything and I really urge people to donate whatever they can. Some of these residents have been inundated for the second time in as many years.

“I am making a personal donation to the Appeal and urge others to do the same. As a community we can pull together to ease the financial burden that faces Queenslanders in the coming weeks and months.

“Financial support at times like these can make a huge difference to the lives of those affected. I ask all locals to give generously to this worthy cause.

“Sections of Queensland have suffered a disaster crisis requiring a massive clean-up effort, but this State and its people will again rise to the challenge.

“Donations can be made by calling 1800 811 700 or visiting redcross.org.au
