Member for Currumbin, Jann Stuckey MP, has congratulated Tallebudgera State School’s Year 3 teacher, Ms Kim Baker, for being awarded the Gold Coast Bulletin’s My Favourite Teacher award.

“On Friday I had the opportunity to visit Tallebudgera State School with the Minister for Education, the Hon. John-Paul Langbroek, and surprise Ms Baker with the award,” Ms Stuckey said.

“Ms Baker has taught at the school for many years and her hard work and commitment to educating our young ones was recognised and thanked by the presentation of this award.

“The students at Tallebudgera were quick to praise their teacher during our visit on Friday and it was a great opportunity to say thank you to a teacher who has put so much into our community over the years.

Minister Langbroek said that winning teachers from across the state should be extremely proud of their awards which acknowledge the significant contribution they’ve made to our students’ lives.

“Ms Baker received high praise from her students – with one saying she had identified his talent in maths and encouraged him to reach his full potential by challenging him every day,” Minster Langbroek said.

“I pass on my sincere congratulations to Ms Baker and thank her and all other teachers in the Currumbin community who are making a positive contribution to young lives,” Ms Stuckey said.
